As he already sponsors a little boy it for his Education through the Charity Education for the Children he thought it would be only natural to raise extra money for this Charity. Education for the Children Foundation exists to help some of the poorest children in Central America off the streets and into the classroom, providing a positive alternative to a life of begging

Now, with the establishment of the Darren Huckerby Trust, he hopes to make a tangible contribution to the lives of local people who are in need. Sponsor Martyn’s Causes here-

The Aquinas Foundation was set up to target Nottingham schools in the first instance, expanding with time. We aim to help lower truancy and raise attainment within schools and tackle the associated problems that stem from these issues such as crime and illiteracy. Nottingham has a notoriously bad reputation and the Aquinas Foundation are determined to have an active impact on changing this; targeting the root of the problem at an early age (primary schools), tackling the actual problem (secondary schools) and making these young people mini-ambassadors for us and finally helping those too far gone (Pupil referral units) – helping these young people re-integrate back into education and help with routes into employment.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website in memory of our son Luey Jacob. We wanted to set up the Foundation to try and make a difference for other families affected by Gastroschisis. Gastroschisis is usually picked up by week 14 in the pregnancy. And is a condition for which the cause is unknown, yet seems to be on the rise. Awareness for the condition needs to be raised to achieve prevention. We would also like to campaign for care of pregnant mothers carrying gastro babies.

Rio Ferdinand has long been involved in philanthropic and charitable activity, both on his own behalf and in rallying support from the sports, arts and entertainment industries for causes with which he identifies. Over the years these causes have covered a range of social and economic issues including tackling young people’s involvement in crime and substance misuse, the lack of training and development opportunities available to residents in disadvantaged neighbourhoods and supporting young people into employment. The Rio Ferdinand Foundation has been established to allow its founder to take a more active role in determining and driving a charitable organisation that reflects those issues and concerns that are close to his heart.

We are a Nottingham based charity working to raise funds for organisations and individuals researching, treating and fighting leukaemia and cancers of the blood.  The Foundation was launched in 2012 in memory of Karen Green who bravely lost her battle to Leukaemia in July 2011.

Inviting a Marie Curie Nurse into your home for the first time can feel a bit daunting if you don’t know what to expect. So to help break the ice, we’ve made three short films to help you get a better understanding of their work. Across the UK there are more than 2,000 Marie Curie Nurses and Senior Healthcare Assistants providing free care at the end of life to people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses

Few disorders are as devastating as Motor Neurone Disease (MND). Imagine a healthy and alert mind trapped inside a body that can’t move, that’s the devastating reality of MND. MND attacks the nerve cells (motor neurones) that send messages from the brain to the muscles. As these motor neurones gradually die, the muscles stop working. If affects people in different ways, so no two people will have exactly the same symptoms or experience of MND.
